A desire to continue creating and, supplying top quality documentary programming to an ever growing and diversifying non-fiction marketplace, is what led Denis Donovan to form Galtymore Media.
A career producer, Mr. Donovan was the Creator & Executive Producer of ATLANTIS IN THE ANDES, which debuted on TLC on June 22, 2001 winning both its time slot and the evening, besting all relevant competition including A&E, The History Channel, and the Discovery Channel.
Since that time four more entries from his prolific pen have been authorized for production by Discovery Communications, Inc., for its Travel Channel subsidiary.
Two of those, mob documentary, BADA BING: Tony Soprano's New Jersey, and archeology hour, THEY WON'T BE SILENT are slated to begin production in the first quarter of 2002, with an additional two, FAMOUS MOB HITS and SECRETS, MYSTERIES, & WONDERS due to roll in the spring.
He also created and Executive Produced the highly successful PROPHECY: COUNTDOWN TO THE NEW MILLENNIUM limited series, currently running on TLC.
Other programs that Mr. Donovan has created and/or oversaw include the limited series, HOSTILE PLANET, the Sinatra biopic, A PASSIONATE LIFE, and the Starz documentary, EVA PERON: HER REAL STORY.
Mr. Donovan also co-produced the successful Discovery International series, STORIES OF THE SEA, featuring John Michel Costeau. Prior to that he was the coordinating producer on SELENA: AN UN-AUTHORIZED BIOGRAPHY, and TITANIC: WHAT REALLY HAPPENED, in addition to numerous other documentaries for cable or Home Video Direct Sales markets.
