Atlantis in the Andes

For almost three millennia, mankind has been intrigued and captivated by stories of the legendary continent of Atlantis.

Millions of words have been written and spoken about this magical land and its technologically superior race of god like creatures.

Atlanteans are credited with among other things, Colonizing the world, Charting its oceans, Creating the first language and Inventing modern day aviation. All this before disappearing without a trace ten thousand or so years ago.

In the past there has only been speculation, and little if any scientific evidence to support its actual existence.

Until now...

On June 22, 2001, at 10 pm Eastern, TLC presented the first conclusive, scientifically verifiable evidence that the legendary continent of Atlantis could have existed.

From Executive Producers Denis Donovan and Lisa Hutchison, ATLANTIS IN THE ANDES is based partially on the ground breaking work of satellite photo analyst and Plato expert Jim Allen and his two books Atlantis: The Andes Solution and Along the Atlantis Trail.

Allen’s contention is that Atlantis did exist and while it was destroyed as legend tells us, it did not sink to the bottom of the Atlantic as is commonly believed. What remains of it exists today high in the Andes Mountains of South America in an area we call the Altiplano.

Mr. Allen’s theories are supported by the latest scientific data from a host of top archeologists, geologists, classicists, authors and investigative journalists including, Doug Kenyon, editor and publisher of Atlantis Rising magazine; Lake Titicaca expert - Archeologist, Mark Aldenderfer; Emmy winning documentarian and author John Anthony West; Classics Professor, Kathryn A. Morgan; Archeoastronomer George Erickson; author Michael Cremo; author and editor of Skeptic Magazine Michael Shermer; and many many more.

Atlantis in the Andes is narrated by Golden Globe nominated actor, Lance Henriksen, the star of Fox Television’s MILLENNIUM..
